I'm sure you've heard about the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As many other businesses have done, we have updated out Privacy Policy in order to comply with the new regulations. GDPR is a new set of rules that aim to protect your privacy and make it easier for you to understand how your personal data is handled by the companies you interact with.

 

You can read our updated privacy policy below and if you have any questions, we'd be very happy to answer them, either by email at info@stafford-house.co.uk or by telephone at 01768 483558. We only hold information about people who have previously stayed at Stafford House, or who have previously requested information about accommodation at Stafford House, which contains only names, email addresses and mobile telephone numbers, but you can request for this information to be deleted at any time by contacting us.

This Privacy Notice explains how we at a Stafford House Bed and Breakfast use any personal information we collect about you.

What information we collect about you

When you make a booking with us we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying, the Home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking. We also collect a debit or credit card number to take the deposit equal to the first night of your stay.

How we use the information we hold on you

We use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card.

We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking and an email with more details on how to find us and other information you may find useful for your stay. Your email address will not be used in any marketing emails.

 

We will not use your telephone number to contact you unless it for an emergency and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you supply us, as part of the booking process, is stored securely on a third party system, as per the terms and conditions of the company used to book our rooms. For any bookings made online,we do not receive any debit/credit card data.

 

Payments taken for direct phone bookings with us, we do not record your debit/credit card information, it is entered directly into our card payment machine. Two copies of the receipt are printed, one is given to you either directly when you stay, unless requested to be sent by post. The merchant copy receipt is retained for a short period after your stay and destroyed in accordance with merchant rules.

 

Neither we nor our booking partners will share your information with any third party unless there is a legal reason for doing so.

Marketing

We currently do not send out marketing materials, via email or post.

Guest Registration

We are required by law to collect the following information on all our guests. We do this by asking you to complete a registration form on arrival.

For commonwealth guests; Name and nationality

For non commonwealth guests; Name, nationality, passport number, address of next destination

 

We will keep these forms safely secured. We are required to keep these registration forms for a year and show them to a police officer if they request to see them. We destroy these forms approximately 12 months after your stay.

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you would like a copy of this information please email us at info@stafford-house.co.uk 

Cookies

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to periodically compile statistical reports on website activity.

During the 1st Lockdown in March 2020, we invested in a

"Fogging Machine"

By useing a special solution certified

to kill ALL Viral 

& Bacterial Infections,

(should there be any present),

We are confident that we can operate as safe as we possibly can be.  

 

We also meticulously clean and sanitise all areas, before finishing with a "Steam Cleaner"

making sure that everything is safe.

 

There are Hand Sanitisers in all 3 Bedrooms, as well the Breakfast Room in the Main House.

The Lodges also have Hand Sanitisers in the Kitchen.

News

Our En-Suite Double Room in the Main House has now been appointed with a Kingsize 4 Poster Bed, there is also wooden pannelling on some of the walls.

We hope that you will like the changes!   

 

After the 3rd Lockdown we were allowed to re-open our Lodges on 12th April 2021, and we have made a few changes..

 

Blencathra Lodge now sleeps 2 People, and Pennine Lodge can sleep up to 6 People.
